Discovery Clubs of Alabama

Individuals

Pray: Jesus said the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few, therefore, "pray" for the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into the field (Matthew 9:38). Prayer is the foundation to everything in God's kingdom - we are told always to pray (Luke 18:1). You can support Discovery Clubs through our "Circle of Friends" prayer group and receive regular updates of the specific prayer requests for this ministry.

Go: Discovery Clubs requires a large volume of volunteers to be the hands and feet of the ministry. Pray about "going into the public schools" as a Discovery Clubs volunteer as part of your following Jesus' command to go into all the world and preach the gospel. Tell: You might know of someone who would be an excellent volunteer teacher or mentor or of someone who would be interested in prayerfully or financially supporting Discovery Clubs. Refer them to us NOW!

Give: In order to freely offer Discovery Clubs to the children, financial support is necessary. We partner with churches and accept donations from individuals and corporations. Discovery Clubs is a 501C-3 non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Churches

The church is the backbone of Discovery Clubs of Alabama. More than 50 churches in Alabama are now ministering to children in public schools through this method. We are able to take the Gospel into 12 schools and reach 900+ students. Hundreds of children have made professions of faith.

How can a church participate?

Pray: - We would hope that all 1200 churches in the Birmingham area would pray for our children in public schools.

Volunteer: - All of our workers come from local churches. When dedicated Christians hear of this evangelistic work in schools, many feel led to help.

Give: - The program is very effective but it is not inexpensive. Although staff is part time, all workers must be trained, all supplies and literature must be paid for.

How can a church give?

Include this ministry in the budget. Just $50 per month or $600 per year.

Collect a special offering. A representative will come to your church, make a presentation and encourage the congregation to pray, volunteer & give.

Today's children are tomorrow's employees. Invest in them now and see a brighter tomorrow.

Corporations that support Discovery Clubs of Alabama are helping to improve our community. Teaching children at an early age to be honest, courteous, to have concern for everyone of all races and to always respect authority will aid in maintaining good grades and good conduct, which will produce excellent future employees for corporations.

Our clubs seek to provide those anchors that every child needs and we strive to instill in these children values and love that they will carry with them into adulthood.

Having future employees who are trustworthy, honest and polite to others will result in less theft, less absenteeism and will show an increase in revenue and provide better working conditions for everyone.
